The U.S. destroyer, USS Ramage, docked at the Beirut Port early Saturday, being the first U.S. warship to do so in more than 30 years.
The U.S. Ambassador in Lebanon, Elizabeth Richard, said that the ship’s presence is a “political message,” and that the U.S. relationship with Lebanon is not limited to military aid. “We are committed to helping the Lebanese people during this difficult economic period,”.
