Murat Ikinci, deputy general manager of the Turkish Defense Engineering Company (STM), said the talks on the export of the MILGEM indigenous warship were in their final stages.
“We have taken important steps towards reaching the signing stage with several countries, including Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, for the export of the MILGEM Ada Class Corvette ,” Ikinci said at the Gulf Air and Defense Exhibition 2017.
He pointed out that during the current period discussions are underway on the preparation of the necessary agreements.
Saudi Arabia plans to buy five MİLGEM ships, while Pakistan has agreed with Turkey to strengthen its naval forces with four ships of the same model, in a defense partnership with Ankara.
