An Iranian cargo ship named “Saviz”, which is considered as an intelligence ship linked to Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, has been attacked with missile in the Red Sea off the coast of Eritrea, Israeli sources reported based on unconfirmed news.

The strike reportedly took place near Yemen.

Accorgin to a Saudi broadcaster Al-Hadath, the attack occured off the coast of Eritrea “probably” is the result of an Israeli operation. Though the ship suffered a significant damage, it did not sink.

The ship Saviz is reportedly suspected of belonging to the Revolutionary Guards, and serves as a floating operations room in the Red Sea from which Iran is gathering intelligence on what is happening in Saudi Arabia and Yemen to assist the Houthi rebels.

Several tankers have been similarly attacked in the Red Sea in recent months, with actions attributed to some of the pro-Iranian Houthi rebels in Yemen.
