According to the Saudi Press Agency, the Saudi Royal Navy is in the preparation for an International Maritime Patrol Ships Forum between 24 to 26th November in Riyadh under the patronage of Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense.
The Royal Saudi Navy has signed an agreement to organize the forum and launch the initial preparations for it, in the presence of the Chairman of the Saudi International Maritime Forum Committee, Brig. Gen. Faisal Bin Muhammad Al-Ghamaisi and the Director-General of the Organizing Company (Star Time) Shaya Al-Qahtani.
The forum, titled: Importance of Securing Strategic Seaways, presents six main themes that discuss all aspects related to the importance of securing strategic sea lanes.
Maritime security issues encountered at the Persian Gulf probably would be one of the important subjects.
