The naval arm of the Saudi-led Arab coalition on Monday (July 8) foiled a Houthi attempt to target a commercial ship in the southern part of the Red Sea.

Coalition spokesman Col. Turki Al-Maliki was quoted by Saudi Press Agency (SPA) as saying that the coalition forces detected a remote controlled boat while it was speeding toward the ship. It was intercepted and destroyed, he said.

The coalition spokesman stressed that the Iran-backed Houthi militias’ threat to international navigation and trade is a serious terrorist act. He asserted that the coalition forces will continue to neutralize all hostile terrorist capabilities of the Houthi militias.
