As The Chinese military received official ownership of a piece of prime Hong Kong waterfront land, at midnight of 29th June, they took control of the Victoria Horbour pier in accordance with China-UK 1994 agreement.
Although there are many protests by Hong Kong residents who are not happy with the handover, the dock is under control of China now.
More pro-democracy protests are expected in the coming days, as residents mark the anniversary of Hong Kong’s 1997 handover to Beijing’s rule.
The move will mean Chinese ships can one day berth in the harbour, whose backdrop is the city’s famous skyline.
